Simon was Born in Kettering, England . Upon leaving school Simon decided to enter the world of financial services “I wanted a job where I could genuinely help people, Working as a financial Adviser enabled me to do thatâ€. After working in the Uk for several years Simon decided his future lay abroad and in the field of professional sports insurance. “My brother in law is a professional footballer and after speaking to him it became very clear that there are no real options available to Professional footballers when it comes to insurance and general finances , ask yourself if I was injured and not able to play football can I survive financially for 2,3 or 6 months? Not every player can honestly say they can. Now, imagine life without football. What will you do when you are unable to play football again either through a career ending injury or through retirement? Only a small percentage would be financially secure “.
After spells working in the Middle East the Far East and Europe, Simon now spends his time working in the EFPG head office in Gibraltar, and EFPG branch in San Pedro (near Marbella).
What does the future hold for EFPG sportsguard? “These are extremely exciting times for everyone, we have many clients already and over the next few months we will be adding to them. I will be personally available to visit every single professional football club in Europe; I will also hold talks with the Football authorities in Europe. I will be looking to continue our work alongside the football unions, because at the end of the day we want to make sure that all footballers receive the correct adviceâ€.
“My aim is to ensure each and every football club and there players receive professional, impartial advice that will benefit them for every stage of their professional career & also when the players retireâ€.
